6-Acre Brush Fire Scorches El Sereno Area :


 
Los Angeles Fire Department air and ground crews quickly knocked down a six-acre brush fire in El Sereno on Friday afternoon.

The fire was reported shortly before 1 p.m. and burned uphill near the 2500 block of North Soto Street, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. It was extinguished in about an hour and 10 minutes.

Air units also were sent the scene. No structures were threatened, and no injuries were reported.
The area is about a mile north of the USC Health Sciences campus, which was not affected.
