Earthquake of 5.5 magnitude hits Uttarakhand:



Strong tremors were earthquake were felt in the Delhi-NCR region and Uttarakhand on Wednesday around 8:50 pm. There is no report of any loss of life or property as of now. 

Tremors were also reported from Uttaranchal, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.

As per IMD, the epicentre of the earthquake was Uttarakhand's Rudraprayag, with a Magnitude of 5.5 and depth of 30 km.

Strong tremors were felt in Uttarakhand' s Nainital, Udham Singh nagar, Champavat, Dehradun, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar and Hrishikesh. In UttarPradesh tremors were felt in Meerut and Baghpat.

She was awarded the Padma Vibhusan, the second highest civilian award.
